Name: Uraguay - Brazil Telegraphic Match |
Place: Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro (?) |
Start date: 24 May 1925 |
End date: 31 May 1925 |
|
Notes: |
There was an 8th game, played by Angel Pons and J.C. Balparda together on the Uraguay side, against Thierry Rezende for Brazil. I only use games played by a single person on each side, so I don't include this one. There is a discrepancy between the table of results on the BrasilBase web page and the game database linked from there. The game Ximénez-Romano is listed as drawn in the table, but is given as a win for Ximénez in the game database, while the reverse is true for the 8th game. I will guess that the draw is correct for Ximénez-Romano (the players could have been misidentified in the database), but this could be wrong. |
