Notes: |
Winter mentions 2 informal games played in Sept./Oct. 1901, before their more famous match. Sarah's Chess Journal has an excerpt from Lasker's Chess Magazine of Feb. 1905, which mentions a match of 4 games in which 'no decision was reached', prior to the famous match. Lasker's report is inaccurate in regards to that other match, however, so cannot be relied on in regards to the former. Hooper and Brandreth give the 2 games as part of a somewhat formal series of match games played by Capablanca against prominent Havana players. |
