| In a letter in the Schachzeitung (Apr. 1847, p.117) and the Chess Player's Chronicle of 1847 (v.8, p.191), von der Lasa says that this game was played during his visit to Hamburg 'towards the close of last year' and that only one game was played between them. The game is given on p.193 of the Chess Player's Chronicle. The game is also given in Bell's Life in London, where it says it took place in Stockholm. The Schachzeitung of Feb. 1847 (p.43) has a report by H.C. Krüger of Hamburg, so it seems certain that the game with von der Lasa would have been played there. |
