| This was the second of two matches. Morgell won the first match but under the condition that to win the match, Preti had to win in the ratio of 1.5 to 1 game (i.e., 3 to 2; see La Régence, 1849, p.220). The exact score of the first match is not given. The result of the second was reported in the Aug. 1849 issue of La Régence (p.228). I am guessing that it finished in July 1849. |
