| According to Urcan (p.58), the Newark Daily Advertiser of 6 Oct. 1893 reported this result, so it must have been played between early Aug. 1893, when Albin began to play in New York, and early Oct. 1893 (and probably before 26 Sept. 1893, when the Impromptu International Tournament began in New York, both players participating). |
