| Harding says that this match was to play off a tie for an amateur prize in the City of London Club National Tournament in July and August. The first two games were played in the week between the end of the City of London Club Tournament and the start of the Hastings Tournament. The match was finished later in the autumn, Hilbert giving final reports from newspapers dated in Nov. 1904, so I presume the match finished early that month. |
