Notes: |
This is a soft result. Saint-Elme-le-Duc recounts how he lost his first 12 games to Weyle at Rook odds when he first started learning from him, but that after a few months Weyle could only give him Pawn and Two Move odds alternating with Knight odds. This makes it clear that their difference in strength was approximately half way between that of the two handicaps. Here, in order to counterbalance the otherwise misleading initial score at Rook odds, I respresent the later state by giving two soft match results, 1-0 for Weyle at Pawn and Two move odds and 0-1 at Knight odds, to make an even score between the two. |
