This is made clear on p.263 of the Sep. 1856 issue of La Régence, where the result of the game is corrected (de Rivière won) and their subsequent 3 games at Pawn and Two Moves are described. I guess that this game took place in July 1856, since it is reported in the Aug. 1856 issue of La Régence. |
