Notes:
Although the report is given in the 17 Apr. 1859 issue of the Era (p.5), it is probably from 1858. The 13 Feb. 1859 issue of the Era (p.5) says that after playing for a while at Pawn and Move odds, Green had to accept Pawn and Two Moves for a while, but did well enough at those odds that they went back to Pawn and Move odds, subsequently. Löwenthal says in the 13 Feb. 1858 issue that he hopes to give the score between them, which is given in the 17 Apr. 1859 issue. Given the time required for messages to get back and forth, it seems likely that the Pawn and Two Move games took place in 1858. In a letter to the Chess Player's Magazine of Apr. 1866 (p.101), Green says that at odds of Pawn and Two Moves Runchunder 'made about even games', which is consistent with the report in the Era.
