| Reported in the 30 Aug. 1862 New York Clipper, so I guess that these games took place earlier that month, though they might have been earlier still. Brown's departure for Europe was announced in the 31 May 1862 issue of the New York Clipper, so his games with Mayet could not have been played earlier than June 1862. |
