| Falkbeer, in the Wiener Schachzeitung, says that Hamppe and Jenay had been playing a series of matches (usually 21 games) for years, Hamppe winning the majority of them. Exact scores are not given by Falkbeer, but since there are so few results for these players, I record it as a soft result of 1.5-0.5 for Hamppe in 1855, which indicates a majority but does not weight the score heavily. This result was sent to me by Tim Harding. |
