| This was the eighth match (of 1886) between Golmayo and Vazquez. The Brooklyn Chess Chronicle of 15 Oct. 1886 (p.6) gives a result to date of 3-1 for Vazquez, 'now in progress'. The 15 Dec. issue says that Golmayo eventually won the match. El Sport of 25 Nov. 1886 (p.1) says that Golmayo won 5-4. I will guess that it ended in Oct. 1886. One of the games is given in the 21 Oct. 1886 issue of El Sport (p.2), dated Oct. 1886. |
