| The account in the Spirit of the Times (14 Feb. 1846) says only that 'A number of games were played between these two gentlemen without any decisive result being attained as to the superiority of either, each parth having been successful on a like number of occasions.' I record this as a soft result of 1-1. Bell's Life in London of 14 Dec. 1845 says that O'Sullivan's visit to Liverpool was 'last week'. |
