| Notes: |
| Their first three games went +2-1 for Montgomery, and Fuller says that in their subsequent games the disparity was even greater. Wilkes' Spirit of the Times of 22 Dec. 1860 gives a final result, but the copy in the Jack O'Keefe database at the Chess Archaeology web site is unclear: it looks like +16-1 for Montgomery, or perhaps +16-11. Since the latter would not be a greater discrepancy in score, I am going to guess that the result was +11-1=0 for Montgomery. |
