Allen (in Fiske), citing Samuel Smyth, says this was the last match between them. Since they played frequently from 1827 to 1837, it seems likely that this match took place in 1837. He says that out of 9 games, Vezin won one. I suppose the others were wins for Schlumberger, as no draws were mentioned, but this is not certain. |
