| Spinrad gives this result from the Albion of 4 Apr. 1857, but says it could be 5-3 or 6-3 for Perrin. The 28 Feb. 1857 issue of the New York Clipper says that the match was for the first to win 5 games, and that it was in progress. The 21 Mar. 1857 issue gives the result so far as +3-3=0. The 25 Apr. 1857 issue of the New York Clipper gives the result as +5-3=0 for Perrin. |
