| The Australasian of 2 May 1925 (p.iii, but apparently facing p.1064) gives the total of games between Kostic and Blieden during Kostic's stay in South Africa, quoting the Pretoria News, as +80-25=24 for Kostic, though it also gives the total number of games as 119, when it should clearly be 129 if the numbers of wins, losses and draws are correct. The British Chess Magazine of 1925 gives the total score as +80-25=15, which adds to 120 games (still not 119). If we assume this last set of scores as correct, then, using the fact that the score of games between them from the part of the visit in 1924 was +68-22=10, we can deduce that the 1925 scores should be +12-3=5, which is what I use here. I will guess they continued into Apr. 1925, though the last game could have been earlier. |
