| This match result, +20-5 for van der Linde, is mentioned in the Dubuque Chess Journal of Apr. 1873 (p.135) immediately after saying that Spoelstra was one of the best players in Holland in 1866, so I presume that is the year of the match. Sissa (1866, pp.140-154, 169-170) has 8 games from a match between them dated 26-31 Mar. 1866 (with result +3-3=2), so I will guess that these two pieces of information describe the same event. |
