| In a report in the Schachzeitung of Jul. 1849, von der Goltz mentions meeting Gordon in Aachen, where Gordon described this encounter with Pendrill (Perdrill) in Ghent. If I undertand the German correctly, it says that Gordon won by one game in a match of 25 games. I will guess that this occurred in 1848. |
