| This result is given by Schumacher in a letter to von der Lasa dated Dec. 1843, without saying when or where these games took place. He does say that he was present when the first two games were played. I am guessing that they took place in Hamburg, where all three players can be located about this time. I am also guessing, with even less certainty, that they took place earlier in 1843, since Alexandre was in Germany that year, though they may have been played some years earlier. |
