| The American Chess Magazine of Mar. 1898 (p.576) says that the match was underway, so I will guess that it started in Feb. 1898. The final result is reported in the Jul. 1898 issue (p.21), but there was no Jun. 1898 issue and the result reported in the Apr.-May 1898 issue (p.629) was 6-1 for Walker, so only one more game remained to be played at that point, so I will guess that the match finished in Apr. 1898, though this may not be exactly right. |
