| The Chess Monthly says this was a match of 25 games and gives the result after 23 had been played (+9-6=8 for Ware). The New York Clipper of 11 Feb. 1860 gives a partial result of 2-0 for Ware, but Hammond was giving Pawn and Move odds, so this may have been part of an earlier match. |
