| The 1 Jun. 1893 issue of Tijdschrift van den Nederlandschen Schaakbond (p.88) says that the match was for the first to win 5 games, and that the first game was won by van Lennep. The 2 Jun. 1893 issue of Algemeen Handelsblad (p.3) says also that it was for the first to win 5 games, and says it would start shortly. The 31 Aug. 1893 issue of Algemeen Handelsblad (p.7) gives the result to date as +4-1 for van Lennep. No further reports have been found; perhaps it ended here, before 5 wins were attained. |
