The Chess Player's Chronicle of 1 Feb. 1879 (p.39) gives a result to date of +4-2 for Florence, but this may have been written earlier in January. According to the Chess Players Chronicle, the match was for the first to win 5 games. I guess that it started and finished in Jan. 1879. |
