| Notes: |
| The Dublin Evening Mail of 21 Feb. 1889 (see the Irish Chess Union website) says this 'little match' was played 'last year'. Forster (p.272) gives one of the games, a win by Rynd, and discusses this series of games (pp.258,927), though he only tentatively accepts that it was a match, indicating that the exact dates are unclear. A date of 2 Oct. 1887 is given for the one game preserved, but a report in the Irish Chess Chronicle of 15 Oct. 1887 gives a partial result as 2-1 for Rynd. |
