| The International Chess Magazine of May 1888 gives both games, dated 17 and 18 Mar. 1888. Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice also give a match result +4-1 for Steinitz dated to 1888. This is not mentioned in contemporary accounts. Perhaps it was a confusion with the 4-1 result of Steinitz against Carvajal in Havana in 1889? |
