| Reichhelm gives this game from the July 1889 issue of the International Chess Magazine; Hilbert also gives it, citing the July 1897 issue of the International Chess Magazine. Reichhelm says it was played in the spring of 1889. Hilbert makes it clear that Weiss's visit to Philadelphia followed the 6th American Chess Congress, and was played in June. I am presuming that it was the only game played between them on this visit, though that is not made entirely clear in the sources I have. |
