Notes: |
Staunton in the Chess Player's Chronicle says that this was a 5-game match at Pawn and two moves, and gives 5 games with a score of +4-1 for Staunton. Le Palamède (15 Sept. 1843) says it was to be a 5-game match at Pawn and two moves, but not yet finished (so I guess it finished in Sept. 1843). Coles in World Chess Champions gives +5-1 for Staunton. |
