Kingston's review of Di Felice's book questions this match result (+1-0=1 for Lasker) saying that Whyld does not mention it and that Hannak gives +1=5. However, my copy of Hannak at least does give +1-0=1 (p.29) as does Feenstra Kuiper and Lasker's Manual of Chess (and Giffen's web page). Gillam, in the book by Forster et al., explain that the second game was not actually finished when Lee resigned the match for health reasons, but that Lasker was up a pawn at that point, so it was counted by Hannak as a win for Lasker. |
