| De Saint-Amant says in Le Palamède (May 1843, p.234) that Foy died on the 23rd of this month ('de ce mois') and although the date of publication of the issue in which this appeared was nominally 15 May, the same page announces the death of another player, Boucherot, 'le 20 de ce mois de Mai.' So I am guessing that Foy's date of death was 23 May and not 23 April. His age at death was 53, so he must have been born between 24 May 1789 and 23 May 1790. |
