Event table notes

Event data
Name: Grand Tournoi
Place: Paris
Start date: Mar. 1861
End date: 10 Apr. 1861

Notes:
A 56-player knockout handicap tournament. Some of the players are named, but no indication is given of who played who until the final 2 rounds (4 players). It is likely that a single win was needed in each pairing (as was the case in previous similar events). I guess at a result of 1-0 when I know who won a pairing, although draws are possible. A drawn game from the event is given in the May 1861 issue of La Nouvelle Régence (pp.142-143), so I guess at +1-0=1 for Laroche-Budzynski.
