| Only partial results available. This was a 16-player knockout tournament. The report in the New York Clipper of 15 Jan. 1859 announces the tournament. The 19 Mar. 1859 issue gives the results of the semi-finals and final, as well as the play-off for 3rd prize between the two losers in the semi-finals, Strong and Gasquet. The actual scores in each pairing are not given, only who beat who, so I assume 1-0 to be conservative. |
