|
Notes: |
Partial results available. 17-player, double-round all-play-all, in which every game had to be an Evans Gambit. Class 1 players (just de Beskrovny) gave an 8 point advantage to the rest (class 3) and class 2 players (Gribius, Najotte, Numa Preti) gave a 6 point advantage to the rest. Thus, Lepine won the tournament with 24 out of 32, de Beskrovny was 2nd, with 30.5 out of 32, since Lepine's score with the 8 handicap points was 32. Dates unclear, but Cornil's extracts from La Stratégie indicate that it did not start until at least April 1879, and was set to end by May 31, but may have extended into June or July as the July issue of La Stratégie says that it is finished at last ('enfin terminé'). |
