Bohatirchuk started but retired after 3 or 4 games and his games were cancelled from the official scores. Gaige and Di Felice give only the official crosstable, without Bohatirchuk. Popovsky gives the results of 3 games of Bohatirchuk (a win against Ratner, and losses to Poliak and Kalina) but indicates that Bohatirchuk scored '1.0(4)' before retiring. Voronkov gives this result 1 out of 4 from one source but finds a later source with more information. Bohatirchuk was present for 6 rounds, but it is not clear whether he finished all 6 of these games. His first round game was with Poliak, but it was not completed until after his 6th round loss to Kalina. In the second round he started a game against Konstantinopolsky, adjourned in a drawn position (and perhaps never finished?). In the third round he beat Ratner. In the fourth round he started a game against Grinberg, adjourned in a position more favorable to Grinberg (and perhaps never finished?). He didn't play on the day of the 5th round but eventually his fifth round game against Edelman was 'counted' (presumably scored as a win for Bohatirchuk). So altogether, we know that he lost to Poliak and Kalina, that he won against Ratner and Edelman, and that he lost at least one other, but whether this was against Konstantinopolsky or Grinberg is not clear. The latter is perhaps more likely, since it was adjourned when Grinberg had an advantage. I will count the 4 known game results. |
