Notes: |
There were two classes of players, but the odds are not specified. I will guess that class 1 players gave class 2 players Pawn and Move odds, though it may have been stronger odds. Also, the crosstable in the Tijdschrift van den Nederlandschen Schaakbond (1 Apr. 1896, p.87) shows some entries with the notation '1--' or '0--', which I take to mean wins and losses by default, and so have not included those games, though it is possible that there is some other interpretation, such as adjudicated games, though this seems less likely. If my interpretation is correct, Vles forfeited to Felix (though this is only indicated by the '1--' for Felix against Vles, whereas Vles has a '0' against Felix and a '0--' against Steffelaar, which I will guess should have been a '0--' against Felix), Kruijt forfeited to Willemse and Gouwentak, Keuls forfeited to Ridderhof, van Rhijn, Willemse, Gouwentak, and Steffelaar, Samson forfeited to Vles and Ridderhof, and Felix forfeited to Kruijt. No dates are given, but I will guess at Mar. 1896, since it appears in the 1 Apr. 1896 issue of Tijdschrift van den Nederlandschen Schaakbond. |
