| The crosstable in Österreichische Schachrundschau of Nov. 1922 (p.77) indicated forfeited games by an asterisk against the result. Kutscha forfeited to Szigeti, and Janoschkovetz forfeited to Fischer, since there is an asterisk against the score of both players in the appropriate places. However, for the game Ludwig-Janoschkovetz, there is an asterisk beside the 0 for Janoschkovetz, but not by the 1 for Ludwig; and similarly, for the game Kirschen-Szigeti, there is an asterisk beside the 1 for Kirschen but not by the 0 for Szigeti. So in these two cases, it is not entirely clear whether the games were played or forfeited. I assume that it was a forfeit in both cases. |
