Name: Turner Hall Club Tournament
Place: New York
Start date: Feb. 1875
End date: Mar. 1875

Notes:
Only partial results available. Van Winsen says that 18 players originally entered the tournament, which was to be an all-play-all with 3 games per pairing. Final scores are not known, but van Winsen gives results from the New York Tribune of 8 Mar. 1875, when the tournament was nearly finished. Here, Rosenbaum's score is out of 55, so I am guessing that there were 20 players in the end, so that each player was meant to play 19*3=57 games. I am also guessing that the unplayed games at this point were all against the players at the bottom. This may not be quite correct, but the scores given should give a reasonable idea of relative strength all the same.
