Event table notes

Event data
Name: 5th Trade Unions Championship Semi-final, Group 1
Place: Leningrad
Start date: 1937
End date: Jan. 1938

Notes:
The crosstable given by both Di Felice and Popovsky is inconsistent. Novotelnov is shown with a draw and a win against Bondarevsky and Bindler, respectively, but Bondarevsky and Binder are show with a loss and a draw, respectively, against Novotelnov. The most likely true situation is that Novotelnov actually got a win and a draw against Bondarevsky and Bindler, respectively. If the reverse, then the total scores for Bondarevsky and Binder would be incorrect, as would be their placement in the table. An additional error that occurs only in Di Felice's table is that Gofman is given a score of 8.5, where the crosstable shows that his total score was 6.5. I have some doubt about whether this was Igor Bondarevsky here or another player of the same surname. It seems a very poor performance for a player of Igor Bondarevsky's strength. I am also only guessing that it was B. Lavrentiev here. The championship final was played in Feb.-Mar. 1938, so I will guess that the semi-finals finished in Jan. 1938 (though they might have extended into Feb. 1938).
