| Delmar and Simonson started but withdrew after playing only a few games. The 15 Jun. 1886 issue of the Brooklyn Chess Chronicle (p.129) gives scores to date including 2 out of 4 for Delmar and 1.5 out of 3 for Simonson, but it is not clear against whom they won, drew, or lost. The scheduled pairings are listed, but the scores to date indicate that many of the scheduled games had not been played, so it is not even clear whether Delmar's 4 scored games were against his scheduled opponents in the first two rounds, and similarly for Simonson. Thus, I only rate the final official results of the 4-player double-round all-play-all, without the games of Delmar and Simonson cancelled. |
