Only partial results available. This was intended as a 22-player single-round all-play-all handicap tournament, with players in 5 classes. The odds for class differences of 1 to 4 were the Move, Pawn and Move, Pawn and Two Moves, and the Knight, respectively. We are given the scores of the top 3 players, Zukertort 19/22, Munk 18/22, and Littauer 16.5/22. However, quite a few of those scores came from forfeited games. Three players, W. Schulten (Class 2), F. Behrens (Class 3), and Heilbronn (Class 5), played no games at all and forfeited all. Furthermore, the three prize-winners played no games between each other: Munk (Class 2) forfeited to Zukertort (Class 1), and both Munk and Zukertort forfeited to Littauer (Class 3). Furthermore, Wladimiroff, who was nominally in Class 3, waived all handicaps and played only 4 games: against Zukertort, Munk, Littauer, and Sander (Class 2). Since his results don't fit properly into the handicap scheme, I exclude him from the crosstable and include his 4 games separately as 'match' results. Thus, Zukertort and Munk each scored 14 out of the 15 games they played (not counting the games against Wladimiroff), and Littauer scored 10.5 out of the 15 games he played (not counting the game against Wladimiroff). One other player, Wette, in Class 4, also waived all handicaps, but we don't know his scores, so as far as his play against the top three goes, we can think of him roughly as in Class 2, which should receive odds of the Move from Class 1 (Zukertort) and should give odds of the Move to Class 3 (Littauer). No odds were given or received but we don't know who had the move in each game in any case. Finally, we know that it was Liebermann (Class 4) who was the only one to beat Zukertort and Munk, but since we don't know any of his other scores, we cannot rate him. The other players were A. Lichtenstein (Class 2); Avellis, Horwitz, Levinson, Richter, Rohde, and Trobach (all Class 4); Hansen, Levin, Marcus, Peltin, and Zeiseweiss (all Class 5). |
