Event data |
Name: 13th Franklin Chess Club Championship |
Place: Philadelphia |
Start date: 6 Jan. 1898 |
End date: 24 Mar. 1898 |
|
Notes: |
Di Felice has Mordecai Morgan and F. Smyth at this event but Reichhelm and Hilbert have J.P. Morgan and C. Smyth. Hilbert (p.62) cites Kemeny's Phila. Pub. Ledger column of 28 Mar. 1898 as saying that the championship 'was finished on Thursday', which would be 24 Mar. 1898. Hilbert and Lahde give year as 1897, but other sources say 1898. |
