| The Chess Monthly of Jul. 1895 (p.326) gives the odds classes for Wilmot, Brown, and Dawbarn, but doesn't mention odds classes for Firth or Gibbs. Both of these players played in the Knight class in the 3rd Craigside Handicap earlier in the year, so I will guess that they were also Knight class here. Gibbs and Jacobs both forfeited to Wilmot, and Jones and Blake agreed to a draw in their game, which I presume means that the game was not played (the score is recorded in the table with a dagger, not 1/2, and the dagger points to the note 'Agreed to draw'). In any case the total scores for these players at the right of the crosstable do not include this game. |
