Notes: |
Le Devoir of 14 July 1926 (p.7) has scores for all 7 players, but they don't add up to 42, as they should for a 7-player double-round all-play-all tournament, and the scores for many of the players are not out of 12 (Bigelow is shown with 7-6, which means 7 out of 13, while others have scores out of 11 and Reinfeld out of 10). However, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 5 Aug. 1926 (p.20) gives scores for the top 5 players, all out of 12 and not consistent with the scores in Le Devoir. The scores for the final two, Croney and Shedlovsky, are given in Le Devoir as 5-7 and 4-7. If we assume that both should read 5-7, then the sum of scores from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle plus these two with 5 each total 42, as they should. This is what I assume here. |
