Event table notes

Event data
Name: Hilversum Tournament
Place: Hilversum
Start date: 24 May 1893
End date: 25 May 1893

Notes:
This was an 11-player handicap knockout tournament. Heemskerk and van Lennep were in the first class. Vuurmans, Brandsma, Gantvoort, van der Meulen, and Jo.H. Peet were in the second class, and the others were in the third class. Odds of Pawn and Move were given for a class difference of one, as indicated for the game between van Lennep and Jo.H. Peet on p.99 of the 1 Jun. 1893 issue of Tijdschrift van den Nederlandschen Schaakbond, and I will guess that Pawn and Two Moves were given for a class difference of two.
