Hooper and Whyld give result as +6-2=1 for Lasker; Feenstra Kuiper, Sunnucks, Di Felice, Giffen, Alberti, Hannak and Lasker's Manual give +6-2=2, and Negele gives 7-3 for Lasker. Kingston clarifies that game 3 was not played but 'counted as a draw when scheduling problems arose'. I take the correct score, therefore, to be +6-2=1. Brennen gives date as 1894; Di Felice gives 1892-1893; Feenstra Kuiper, Glen Giffen and Lasker's Manual give 1893; Graeme Cree's web site gives 1892. Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice give the location as Kokomo (Indiana), but Kingston says that the first two games were played in Logansport (Indiana). The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 20 Oct. 1895 (p.5) gives the score as 6-2 for Lasker and gives the year as 1893. Dinger in (p.101) gives +7-2=2, the first 3 played in Logansport in 1892, and the rest in Kokomo in Apr. 1893. |
