Place: Paris (?)
Start date: 1820
End date: 1820

Notes:
This result is given in a letter by S. Lécrivain to Le Palamède but with no indication of the year, except to say that 'tradition teaches us' that these games took place. Deschapelles played little after 1821 and his rare reappearances are documented, so it is likely that this took place earlier, though how much earlier is unknown, since Deschapelles began his chess career in 1798 and Boncourt was born in the 1760s (though Deschapelles was away for considerable periods in the first 2 decades of the 19th century). I am placing it in the year 1820, though admittedly with little to go on.
