| This looks like an event separate from a match between the same players played the same year with result +5-2=2 for Stanley. According to Fiske, that match was played when Stanley visited Boston, whereas according to the Chess Player's Chronicle (v.7, 1846, p.139), this result was of games played between them on Hammond's visit to New York. I do not know whether these games were considered a formal match. |
