Notes: |
The report in the Illustrated London News of 12 June 1869 (p.603), the Era of 13 Jun. 1869 (p.7), and also in the Chess Players' Quarterly Chronicle of Aug. 1869 (vol.1, p.247), says that it was a match of 3 games and that Parratt won two and the prize, which I take to mean that he won +2-0=0 (since there is no mention of Skipworth winning a game, and I suspect there would have been if he'd won one). |
