Notes: |
Di Felice gives the location of this match as Pretoria, South Africa, but Winter indicates that it was played on board the ship S.S. Pretoria, returning to Europe after the Cambridge Springs Tournament in the U.S.A. According to Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice, this was a Rice Gambit match. However, the 6th game, given by Winter, was not a Rice Gambit game. According to Tim Harding, these games were all King's Gambit Declined (from the Field). Winter gives the date of the 6th (and final) game as 13 June 1904. |
