| According to Robert Jones at his Passmore web page, the 8-game match was played in June 1904, followed by two more games. Tim Harding, however, has found the match result +5-1=2 for Leonhardt in the 30 Jan. 1904 issue of the Field, with no mention of the other two games. I will guess, until further information arises, that the 8-game match was played in Jan. 1904, and the other two games in June 1904 (recoreded as a separate result here). Jones indicates that the game scores of 3 of the games were entirely or mostly missing, which might mean that they were defaulted or simply that the scores were not recorded. Di Felice gives the same results as two separate matches. |
